A Place to Thrive

Community focused, the Athabasca Regional Multiplex is one of the region’s newest attractions, featuring an arena, curling rink, field house, fitness centre, daycare, retail store and meeting spaces.

Promoting themes of fitness, health and wellness, the facility supports such activities as walking, running, hockey, figure skating, soccer, basketball, badminton, tennis, lacrosse, dance, gymnastics and more.

Designed as a multi-purpose community facility, the Multiplex is available for conferences, weddings, trade shows, graduations, parties and meetings of all sorts. There are rooms to comfortably accommodate from 36 to over 1,000 individuals, allowing a wide range of social, sporting and cultural activities.

Outdoor alternatives being developed include ball diamonds, soccer pitches and parklands. Walking trails will connect to the spectacular Muskeg Creek trail system and to other walkways leading to the historic Athabasca Riverfront.

The variety of recreational, leisure and cultural activities in the facility will develop over time to meet the interests of the region’s expanding population. Participants and spectators of all ages and from all walks of life will benefit from the Multiplex for generations to come.

The Athabasca Regional Multiplex is located on University Drive, adjacent to Athabasca University.
